BACK TO TABLE OF CONTENTS

Ingredients

  • 200–250g dried spaghetti (about half a box)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ onion, finely diced

  • 2 cups Manny’s Ultimate Bloody Mary

  • 1 can (13 ounces) crushed tomatoes

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to spice level)

  • ½ teaspoon sugar

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Grated parmesan and fresh basil

PICCANTE SPAGHETTI

Directions

  1. Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water according to package directions. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.

  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  3. Add garlic and onion; cook for 3–4 minutes until soft and fragrant.

  4. Pour in crushed tomatoes and Manny’s Ultimate Bloody Mary. Stir to combine.

  5. Add red pepper flakes, sugar, salt, and pepper.

  6. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.

  7. Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

  8. Add cooked spaghetti to the sauce. Toss well,adding a splash of pasta water if needed to coat noodles evenly.

  9. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.

  10. Serve hot with parmesan and basil if preferred.
